It's fine to send people to a YouTube link, Marie.

Re: Wish: start a career in my 60's

This isn't anything you mentioned as an interest, but for a long time I've been wishing someone would love to market the coaches I've trained, and get gigs for the speakers who have written good books in my WriteSpeak program. Marketing is the pitfall for every one of them. They just hate it and usu...

Re: Wish: To downsize and travel. Obstacle....

Or maybe you could start out by taking him with you, to something that interests him enormously, for just a couple of days. Maybe he'd beg off after a while and ask you to go without him. (The only problem is if he likes doing it so much he wants to go all the time!)

Re: Gardening

Not sure what comment you're answering, inspires success, but I've been in your position and I think I know what you're feeling. I think you should garden succulents in little pots on your window sills and give or loan your gardening land to one of your neighbors who has more time and needs more veg...

Re: What is Resistance stopping you from doing today?

Good advice. Resistance is always fear. Usually fear of emotional pain.

Re: Lots of people are about to retire

I know that people who wait until they've retired and have plenty of open time run into a big problem: there's some depression that seems to go with any loss - even the loss of a job you weren't crazy about - and it's enough to make you have some real trouble wanting anything at all. Too much open t...

Good for you for letting the tears come. You should be able to do whatever you need to do now.

Re: What is Resistance stopping you from doing today?

If that won't work, there's the one thing that always works: let out some tears. Something you're about to touch is full of emotional pain and just a tear or two will stop the shaking and make the fear go away. Not forever, but for now, long enough to get the paper you need so you can send the note....

Re: What is Resistance stopping you from doing today?

Would it help to go to the stationery store to buy a number of different kinds of stationery for different purposes? Have you ever wished you had something you could write a short thank you not on, for instance? I get lovely hand written letters from people who liked my books. Maybe if you got a few...

I'd love to hear from anyone and everyone who knows exactly what I mean. Tell me about it. Let's see what we can learn that will help you.

Lots of people are about to retire

The boomer generation has hit retirement age I'm 10 years older and I come from a very small generation so I don't know many people who retired, and I've always had a business of my own, so nothing really changed for me. But lots of people will be facing real retirement. If you're one of them, what ...

Good Enough Jobs

Some people find them, others can't seem to. If you found a good enough job, the kind that lets you pay your rent while you pursue what you really love on your own time, tell us about it here. What was it, how did you find it, how did you know it was the good enough job? We need to hear from lots of...
