Sotheby's auction.

Postby winter » Sun Nov 23, 2008 11:56 am

Hello everyone. It's about this little silver trinket 1750 which has been lying around at my parents for years. Recently they decided to give it to Sotheby's auction. Alas, it hasn't been sold. Sotheby wanted 700 Euro to have it shipped to them. Now, another 300 Euro as it was not sold. And another 700 Euro to have it shipped back to my parents. Turns out to be expensive. Can someone offer some advice on what to do ?!?

Hi winter, I've shipped an expensive bike from UK and it never cost anything like that. Do you know if the amount Sotheby's wants is their standard charge or was it because the jewellery was valued as very expensive?
