Librarians - Do you know this Book title & Author?

I'm looking for a particular 'cheeky' art book- a parody of women's work in the home, but the female author/artist changed well known masterpieces and added 'housekeeping' themes in her artwork.

e.g. a well known masterpiece of a ballet dancer in a special 'pose' with a duster in her hand!!

something ??? like this??
http://www.famous-art.net/124-dancer-with-bouquet.html

Where on the internet could I look for something like this???
What keywords could I use?

Any librarians out there who could help me pls?

That kind of painting is called 'doctored' if that is of any use.

I'm not a librarian, but I'm usually pretty good at finding stuff on the internet. Haven't had much success with this one though. The nearest I've got is this "feminist parody of Manet's "Le Dejeuner sur L'herbe"

http://www.theatlantic.com/daily-dish/a ... ed/236019/

No housework there, but perhaps the ones you want are by the same artist or in the same book.

Thank you for the two replies...
doctored.... yes that's the word.
Tks Skannie, no that's not it either.
I will just have to keep looking.

Can someone suggest some keywords or special 'search techniques" I could use?

I'm not sure this is it:

http://www.cindysherman.com/

but Cindy Sherman dresses herself in costume and takes photographs in poses making fun of classic artists' work.

There's a review of one of her books here: http://breadandcircusnetwork.wordpress. ... rn-parody/

I did a search on: " housework parody art" and so far this is the only thing I found.

Tks Younuh,
No that's not it either, and I do appreciate your help.

Sigh!

I need to find more techniques to search the net ...I won't give up.

Can anyone suggest other 'ways/techniques' to search out this book?

I've got an idea.

There is a parody book about housekeeping and feng shui

http://www.powells.com/biblio/61-9780789306791-0

look at the list of product details and do a search for similar ones, adding Art book or visual images or something instead of feng shui

oh! Thanks. I'll go check that out now. Haaaa!

So, can anyone, librarians give me more clues or techniques to 'search' for such an elusive book?

Did you find it yet?

Because I'm now trying to find a mysterious book of my own, I came across this information about trying to track down a book - in case you haven't seen it.

http://www.loc.gov/rr/program/bib/lost/novels.html

Anyone know the name or author of a book where a mysterious stranger is taken to a hospital.

It's a sort of Biblical government conspiracy thriller, sci fi elements. Everytime you think you know the answer to what is going on, you find out it's all wrong. Lots of twists.

I've come across about 20 books with similar themes, none the one I'm looking for.

Hi Zanon

I'm spending hours on this site looking for my book, I could post a message but am enjoying looking through everyone else's questions too much so far.

- stump the librarian -

http://www.loganberrybooks.com/stump.html

even though it is supposed to be for books for children, I've seen many adult ones on there too including cookbooks and war propaganda so I think you could ask for yours without any problems.
