help with wordpress

Postby cshore knitter » Mon Jan 02, 2012 6:43 am

Could someone recommend a good book or online site for beginner information on wordpress? I've just started a blog on it and would like some basic, simple guidance on using it. Thanks!

Once, I did a little research on Google trying to decide between Wordpress and Blogger, and I picked Wordpress for whatever reason. I don't use it extensively, but if you can post on here, it's not too hard to figure out. But, like I said, I don't have any extras or anything, just posts and once in a while I upload an image for a post.

ST, why have we not seen this blog? :?:

I'm reading "Creative Blogging*" right now, and I really like it. It covers Wordpress as well as Blogger and TypePad and takes you from the very beginning (creating the account, choosing a domain name, etc.).

I've been blogging with Blogger for several years, and the book (which is very recent) helped me learn some new aspects of Blogger. Initially, I did also check out Wordpress, but I chose Blogger. Both are excellent platforms. The Wordpress site should have loads of tutorials, although that can be overwhelming.

Another thing the book showed me is just how pervasive Google really is, especially for those of us on Blogger. Fortunately, Google seems to understand that some folks might wish to keep their Blogspot / GMail / Picasa accounts "apparently separate."

Good luck and have a great time!

Trust me, you're not missing anything. It's mainly my running and movie log.
