Wish: donate to the homeless (UK)

Long shot I know but does anyone UK based have any contacts with homeless shelters/soup kitchens etc? At Christmas I am hoping to have a bulk load of hats, gloves, scarves and socks to donate to somebody who can hopefully distribute them to those in need.

I've googled and found the names of the larger organisations but ideally I would love to help those doing their bit on a smaller scale. I know there are people who go out at night to donate care packages to those living rough for example.

Any contacts very much appreciated and if any UK knitters/crocheters would like to help by knitting extra scarves etc to donate to me then that would be much appreciated! X

You're in Southampton aren't you? I should think you'd want to stay local because they'd be heavy and expensive to post.

These are the two I found, but maybe they are the ones you already know about.

Cranbury Avenue Day Centre

Society of St James
http://www.ssj.org.uk/contact/

Or you could get together with some friends and go out at night distributing them yourselves.
