online team technology

There are various posts about online teams. Does this mean instant messaging? I would like to be in an online group but with voice, like a conference call. But not with long distance phone charges. I have found out about Teamspeak, a free program that gamers use to talk to each other, but it is over my head and I can't figure out how to use it. What do other people do when they want to talk and listen as a group for free using their computer instead the phone? Do they use something like Teamspeak, or is there some new feature on Yahoo or Windows Live Messenger that allows for conference calls? Please and thank you.

I've used the Voice feature in Yahoo's IM tool. I believe AIM has one as well.

Are you able to use Yahoo to have a group conversation, where 6 people or so can all hear each other?
