Yes - short answer.

Longer answer - As you pointed out no one has posted anything here this year. That usually means that the person who started the thread has moved on. "Wishes and obstacles is the closest thing to an idea party on the Boards, and if you post there someone will usually see the post and answer you. When you look at other people's wishes, always, always, check the dates. A lot of times, there's a lot of discussion for a while, and then nothing which means that people have moved on. But if you comment on a topic that interests you, you will bump it to the top and sometimes people will see your comment and want to comment on it too.

I hope that makes sense to you.

I hate to think of this bulletin board being gone. Facebook took over and was useful for a number of years - for me because I was running trainings that seemed to work better on Facebook, but the best discussions - the longest-running discussions where we all get to know each other - actually take place here on the bulletin board.

I'm going to come back and respond to anything recent and I'd love you all to do it too. Want to give it a try? See if it comes back?

Wow Ms Barbara Sher posting in a thread I started!

Yes I will try. (Not least because I have facebookphobia.)

A lot of people don't like Facebook. But I think everyone likes this bulletin board. I opened it 1999, and it slowed down for a few years but I bet it comes back again!

Actually I'm confused - what is the difference?

Sorry I can't quite tell - are you for or against Thread Necromancy?

You're right. WE do have a thread for Idea parties. ThIs is it. At one time, we had a week-long idea party, and a lot of people logged on, and we had some great wishes and obstacles-type brainstorming.

Am I for against thread necromancy? Long answer - You can "bump" a topic. If you post on an old thread, it will move the thread up to the top of list, and someone will probably answer it and we'll have some good discussion. If you answer someone's wish, and that person posted the wish a year ago, they probably won't see your post. So use your judgement when posting on an old thread. Or at the least, prepare for the possibility that no one will answer your post. Does that help?????

Short answer, I think it's confusing and disappointing for new users to post on an old thread and not have anyone comment on it. I think some of the old posts could be deleted, but you never know when an old post might come in handy.

Mariya wants to get an idea party going, so this thread might have some activity happening.

As you noticed, Barbara Sher answered your post a couple of days ago. She said she wants to revive the Boards, which is way cool.
