Great small exercise! Will print out those ideas, let's see what happens. Here they are:

1. Running a small wine bar in Southern Tirol

2. Being the best boss ever within a company and changing the way of managing people within that company to a holistic and human management style

3. Writing books and essays about all the things I learned in live and that hopefully would inspire other people as well

So, that was my old list, based on what I wanted when I was 20-something.

Today, it might be more like:
  1. travelling photo-documentarian and filmmaker for NGOs and NPOs
  2. elephant, rhino, orang-utan, or cheetah rescue caretaker
  3. helicopter pilot « yeah, I still want to fly

But tomorrow, who knows? I’ll write another list in another couple of years and see. :)

I love this topic. The only thing wrong with it is that it's just lists. I don't see anyone commenting or asking questions. So how about looking through (if you feel like it, of course) and finding some interesting posts, and asking questions, making comments, or telling us your own three lives?

Yeah, it was meant as a launching pad of sorts. You need to make the list before you can create an action plan.

Good idea! But if nobody talks to you about what you said, guess what happens? You're all alone.

And -- you know what I'm going to say, I'm sure of that :-) -- Isolation is the dream killer!

If you tell people why you love the idea of each of these three lives and you mention any obstacles, you've wound up the best energy machine I ever saw: everyone starts trying to figure out how you can have what you want by side-stepping or overcoming your obstacles.

Did you see my TEDx talk yet? That's what I talk about there. People liked it and they mostly got it but one person said that if you did what I said the Universe would deliver your wish to you (I *never* said that, you can be sure of that!) and another person wrote that I said you could have any dream as long as you believed in it completely. (I never said that, either!)

All the same, we humans are interested in each others lives and each others reactions. So it could be a lot of fun to hear why people love each of the lives they listed.

All kinds of good posts here that I almost missed.

My question - I daydream. A lot. Most of the daydreams are just an enjoyable way to pass some time - not anything I'd ever really do. For example, I daydream about winning the Great British Baking Challenge (or some title like that.) I like baking, but not enough to seriously want to enter a baking competition. it's just a fun thing to think about.

I can't really imagine living a life very different from the one I live right now. If I were to change anything, it would be for me to be less timid, more technologically savy, and to have more energy than I do. And I'd spend more time around people. (which requires energy.)

It doesn't really answer the question, what three lives would I live, but it's what I want to post here.

Thanks, Barbara.
