If you only knew!
Without HO there would be no Molly Chronicles. It started with an exercise - do your dream for 10 minutes (or something like that). THAT'S WHAT STARTED THE WHOLE THING. I wanted to be a scientist taking samples from a boat. (I'd done it when I worked in the lab and loved it.) So I asked my brother-in-law to take us out in his boat, and I took pictures. It was fun. The photos lent themselves to Molly saying, "I took my humans sailing on the bay." And that led to Molly's blogging. I was called to Jury Duty, which led to more blogging, and some conversations on HO and on the Boards. Shadow posted that he could carry two balls in his mouth at the same time. Square Peg's (Shadow's human) post was hilarious. I had to do something with that. So of course the dogs tried out for Major League Baseball.

Meanwhile you had an exercise "Practice Goals are Good", and Molly decided to wrote a book for a practice goal. I hit a ton of snags with photos and computers, and !@#!@$%%. Again, I got help from the Boards and Hanging Out. And finally, some of the HO people (including you) wrote reviews for me. It started as a practice goal, but I really care and want people to read my book. That's my touchstone - I don't care about money, but I do care about people reading my work.

So without you and HO and the Boards, there would be no book. I know you like starting things, so know that you started and supported this book into existence. The paperback is available on Amazon. the e-book is still in the works. It will be a challenge to get the pictures and captions to come out right on an electronic reader. I haven't tackled it yet, but it should turn out okay with page breaks.

THANK YOU.

I would like to write something like this on HO, but don't know quite where to post it so that the people who helped me will see it.

well, wow. I'm blown away.

That feels good.

Yes, HO should see this post, Elaine.

Let's see. Where should it go? <scratching head>

Yep!! I did indeed Elaine! I set the deadline short at first because we wanted money quickly to get Eileen moved. But now she has moved I thought we could continue the campaign longer to provide some ongoing support, so I extended it to the maximum.

And it means there's time to get Molly's e-book ready.

I added some news updates too, and a photo from her son of Eileen in her cosy new room.

Now it would be great if people could post it on Facebook and other places. And give it lots of likes, comments and shares. Because likes comments and shares make it look like a popular post, and then FB will show it more often to more people.

Hi, Skannie,

I paid for CreateSpace to do the conversion to Kindle. Their time frame is two weeks. The e-book will be available for Kindle, I-pad, and I-phone, (CreateSpace is affiliated with Amazon, so no Nook.) I'd still like to make the paperback available.

Hi, teddy_b
Thanks for posting. And I hope you come back, especially if you have a wish you'd like support with. It really is helpful, for me at least, to post and talk about my plans.

Freshmelon, you need to know that Eileen passed away. she died a few weeks after the crowdfunding site was set up. Thank you for your good wishes. She was a great Internet friend. She was the kind of person who would help anyone or any animal in need.

Thank you for your desire to help.

Haven't heard of GoGetFunding.com. Thanks! I just had to start a fundraiser at YouCaring.com for myself (https://www.youcaring.com/help-senior-n ... ork-489532) - almost no work this year and I need help, too.

Try there, if you haven't.

Hi, Notanewbie,

Your crowd funding link doesn't work.

I hope you're finding a way to have a happy holiday season that doesn't require money. Good luck to you.
