Colorado Voc Rehab Success Teams

We have completed 3 weeks of a Success Team for those receiving Voc Rehab Services - 15 were asked to attend and 7 are attending. By week three we are beyond the hesitancy and seeing movement toward job goals and cohesion of the group. It is very exciting. A co-worker wants to start a team with the individuals he is working with - so will be starting another team shortly. Next week is the first week of a Business Success Team (monthly meetings) for those receiving services to start new business with support from Voc Rehab. There is some excitement already among the 15 asked to attend. Will keep you posted on the successes!!!

Success Team - had a hard times session, facts about resistance, and more on dates in the backwards flow chart. Lots of ideas generated for each persons goal - drafter, psyche, preschool assistant, herbalist, accessibility programs at the state parks, customer service from home, drug/alcohol counselor - a great variety!! Business Success Team - Key obstacle marketing in current economy - everyone went home with a new marketing idea for their business -- horse trainer for those who have been injured, drafter, fuel efficient gadget mfg, cosmetologist, spa/skin care, writer- abuse survivor, taxidermist, ---- initial meeting so developing group, yet as well known very willing to help each other.

The second 8 weeks with some member change up is happening - one has a job. Another has three possibilities - invites for work starting in August!! Yeah! Others are moving forward with their necessary preparations to identify work and search for work! They are doing some independent networking.

Business Success Team - little light on their specific monthly accomplishments this last meeting - enjoying their interactions with each other, business to business networking and trades happening. Vocalizing their business needs and we then bring in an expert to present for 20-30 minutes. Their written reports of accomplishments for last month, their obstacles (followed by a list of ideas from colleagues or guest speaker) and then their goals for the next month are being well done and showing movement.

Both within the given economy!!!

Voc team - voc goals: herbalist, construction project manager, customer service rep, drafting, physical therapy aide, writer, CAC counselor, property management , early childhood daycare - a variety for sure

Business Team - taxidermist, cosmetologist, drafter, propane consultant, horse trainer, motorcycle repair, writer, esthetician, weaver, web designer, - lots of diversity!
