You knew Inspire back in the beginning? She did get the information on her computer back. Either most of it or all of it. She was posting on the Boards for a while, and then had other things come up. I hope she comes back.

Hello everyone,

I'm glad you brought this up again, JazzMuse. I was so freaked out about the whole thing that I didn't save any of it anywhere other than my computer. Not smart, I know!

I'm trying to save them all to google whateveryoucall it. I have an account set up, I set up a file "old journals", I highlighted what I wanted to put in the google thing and I can't figure out how to move things from my documents file to the google. Any help from anyone? I tried highlighting the files then tried to "paste" them into the google file folder and it just said "download failed".

God, I hate learning new things on the computer! Help, anyone out there????

Okay, I'll assume you have a Google Drive account.

Since you're using this for backup, I'll refrain from recommending that you install the Google Drive "client" on your computer. I can explain that statement, if you want.

Instead, use the web browser to "Upload files...". To do this, locate the "My Drive" button with a little down-pointing triangle on the right. Click the button to reveal a small drop-down menu. Click "Upload files...". A dialog box that looks like Explorer should open that will allow you to select files to add to your Drive. You can select one or more folders, and multiple files at once, if you want, by using either the shift-click or control click techniques.

I thought Google's help would have more details, but alas, I think the help I've just written is much more detailed:

Even youtube is pretty lame on this subject. The videos are at least 1 year old, and they show how to upload just one file (even though the titles all say, "Upload Files"

BTW, "Drag and Drop" works only with the Chrome browser, apparently.

I also hate learning new things on computers. I saved some really important things by e-mailing them as attachments to myself. And I have the cloud (I think) that backs up all my work. I think the e-mail thing will work for a couple of years, but not forever.
