GRATITUDE APRIL 2019

Postby inspiresuccess » Thu Apr 04, 2019 12:38 pm

Elaine, I got an email notification that you posted in this forum but can't find your post.

I'M BACK! Is anyone else still here on the boards (besides Elaine)?

GRATITUDE LIST

I'm grateful that my taxes so far seem fairly basic. I do them myself and got started yesterday. If I have trouble, the library has helpers tomorrow. Hopefully, the taxes will be in the mail on Monday. That's the goal.

I'm grateful that my health is good.

I'm grateful that I have a computer again. Haven't had one for a year. The old desktop monitor broke down and I couldn't persuade myself to buy a lap top. The idea was that not having the desktop up and running would motivate me to buy a laptop. Talk about procrastination! I year later and I still don't have a lap top! I got a free monitor from a friend so the trusty desktop is working again. The good thing is that not having a computer forced me to learn how to use my smart phone. I've been doing all business on it for a year.

I'm grateful I have a garden plot at the community garden. I got a 2nd plot right next to mine so I have 2x the space this year. I haven't been there for about 2 months. It's a 20 minute drive from my apartment and with the weather cold and rainy I don't like going there. But tomatoes have to be planted before May 1st so I'm praying for sunshine.

I'm grateful for my cat, Dancer. After living alone for years, she brings joy into my life daily.

I'm grateful for a new friend who invited me to dinner recently. Friends have been few and far between for years despite the fact that I'm a stellar person (and modest, too)!

I'm grateful for a new women's group I joined.

I'm grateful to be able to do 2 volunteer things -- driving people to doctors appointments and help preparing a meal for a shelter once a month. The reason this is such a big deal is for 15 years I've been the one needing the help. Finally, I'm well enough to help others again. I do miss helping people on the boards. I miss the days where there were so many people I could cheer on and help.

I'm grateful for the ACA (Obama Care) for helping me pay my medical bills. Next year I turn 65 and will be forced off ACA and onto Medicare which is going to cost me more as far as I can tell. I'll be gathering information about that soon.

I'm grateful for a small meditation/vespers group I go to on Wednesdays that gives me a sense of peace halfway through the week.

I'm grateful to live in California where my only complaint about weather is rain in the winter. We all boohoo when it gets down to 50 degrees! Since I've lived here all my adult life (after growing up near Buffalo, NY) I've gotten so used to the weather here I've gotten as wimpy as everyone else when it gets below 70 degrees! Of course, in the summer we wimp out over the heat (which actually does suck when it's in the 100's so much of the time). Overall, despite our complaints, we have amazing weather.

I'm grateful the boards are still here for me to go on and on about my gratitude despite the fact that probably no one will read this!

What else? I'm sure there are so many other things to be grateful for that I can't think of right now.

Happy April, everyone!

Inspire, I hope you found the Personal message I sent you.

Me - complained loudly and obnoxiously, about losing some stuff. I found everything I'd lost, plus a couple of things I didn't know I had lost. So I'm grateful, and sorry that I (temporarily) lost it. (my temper.)

I didn't. Where do I go to find personal messages?

AT the top of the page right under "Board Index," click on the "1 new message" If it says "0 new messages" then my message didn't get through.

In case it disappeared, I said "hi," and that it was good to hear from you and that I enjoyed reading your gratitude list. I don't remember exactly, and I can't find it. I sent it as a pm because it was written more to you than to everyone who reads our posts.

It says zero new messages. For some reason, it did't get through. But thank you for whatever you wrote!

Be careful, Inspire, I think the guy posting information about female escorts and links to a company that will write your term paper for you might be a hacker. Don't open his links.

I'm grateful for the weather turning sunny.

I'm grateful for my garden space. My garden has 3 foot high weeds after not being there for several months! Now that I know that happens I won't let it happen next year.It feels so good to be outside, feeling the breeze, kneeling on the ground pulling weeds. So relaxing and rewarding after being indoors all winter. I'm so grateful to have my community garden space because living in an apartment is so hard.

I'm grateful for good health.

I'm grateful for my cat.

I'm grateful for my new book club. The first meeting went really well. I loved the book, because it was humorous. The future books might be depressing, but I'm willing to give them a try. Being in a room with 10 people who love to read was fantastic!

I'm really grateful that I'm still a size 8! I lost 50lbs a few years ago and have not gained any back. I'm still amazed and grateful every day to be happy I'm the size I want to be. The next step is exercise in order to be strong again.

I'm grateful to see that both of you are okay. I did worry a bit.

4-17 Grateful

Postby Lynx » Wed Apr 17, 2019 5:39 am

I'm grateful …

to Inspire for opening this thread

to the amazing internet that allows me to connect to wonderful people doing wonderful stuff for themselves and others

to my paying clients

my sustained good health and the lifetime of good habits I built up that now show off their worth

to my partner for putting up with me

to my assistant who's mostly on the bench at the moment, but I'll find ways to get her more work

to my persistent self

to my studies which leave me with hidden boulders of strength that shore up my thoughts, words, & actions

to Apple for making amazing machines. Such as my ipad pro (named Thin Jinn).

To Office Depot for making tül gel pens in dancing colors

to my open schedule so i can get up at 4 and doodle around for 3 hours before heading back to sleep for 3 more

To my friend X who gave me my first ride in a Telsa Model S, red, with white leather interior.

To Barbara for continuing to sponsor our forum.

To you, for being you.

I'm so glad you've joined this thread and are posting your gratitude list! It's amazing, isn't it, when we stop to think about gratitude, how many things come up that we tend to not focus on. Welcome to this thread, Lynx

I'm grateful for the ability to pee.

I'm not trying to be funny, so I'll add some background in a more appropriate thread to explain this.

Square Peg, I understand. My husband went through a very scary episode involving driving across three states with a catheter.

I'm grateful for

my garden exploding with flowers.

my Internet friends

The work that I've done.

My friends who critique my work, even though I sometimes get depressed to find out I'm not as smart as I think I am. I am grateful for the critiques because they make me a better writer, and ultimately, that's what's important.

My computer

all the services and all the products we have available to us.

my friends

my church

okay, that's enough for now.
