Hi all, Got my thyroid test results back and I think they are normal. Will do a bit of research on the internet, as I know the value range changed several years ago. Breakfast: multi-grain cereal w/ nonfat milk, cranberry/pomegranate juice (hungry) Lunch: nonfat strawberry yogurt, pasta w/ chicken and parmesan (hungry) Dinner: pb&j on multi-grain bagel, nonfat cherry yogurt, banana, diet Dr Pepper (hungry) Exercise: Several hours of house cleaning and yard work

Hi mango, Did you just have a blood test? Because the one I had showed normal yet the scan showed that I did have a problem on one side.

Hmmm. Yes, I just had the blood test. May look into it deeper, thanks Urs. Snack: green grapes and 2 cheddar cheese sticks (not hungry) Exercise: Several more hours of house cleaning 30 minute walk with the dog I'm in a horrible mood today. Guess that can happen when you don't self-medicate and hide your feelings with food.

Hi mango, On the subject of eating when hungry or not, I can't believe it but in the recent weeks I'm eating much less than before and only when starving. I no longer eat for the sake of it. But for me it's only this latest bird saga that's done it, no amount of stress in the past made any difference.

long walk and gardening last few days. Starting next week I must stop eating cakes at the cafe. Watched a scary program on tv about fat that is stored round the organs, even in very slim people. Ignored the Dr's advice today :x (yes mango, that's a weird smilie)

Starting next week I must stop eating cakes at the cafe.
Stop going to the cafe at all If you want to be successful, you need to change your habits. Cake will only sabotage your efforts.

There's cakes everywhere I go, does that mean I have to stay indoors? Of course not. I have a choice whether to eat them or not.

For the next month, if you only eat the food from your house, you will lose weight. Don't buy anything at a cafe etc and pack yourself a lunch when you are out for the day. Not only will you save money, but you will have control over what food you eat. One of the "secrets" to successful weight loss is: planning (bring your own food/drink when you go out) a food diary (keeping track is important) Do not put yourself in high-risk situations (where there are sweets, your trigger foods) Don't have them in your house or buy them on the street.
