Okay, I've really got to get rid of this extra weight.
So, for the challenge, I plan to lose 30 lbs.

I will exercise, eat properly, and find different ways to manage stress.

why not [i]try[i] giving up grains for a few weeks? If you try it and you don't feel better, no harm done, just eat them again. But I'd be willing to wager that you'll feel good AND will have lost weight! I'm still dropping a pound here and there, and I still feel great. The doctor (did I tell you this already?) was amazed at my blood work at my physical last week. We talked for a good little while (which impressed me immensely) about it, and he plans to look into it further. My cholesterol is WAY better, and my blood pressure had dropped back down. Neither were in the "danger" range, but both were trending upward over the last few years. Even when I wasn't teaching, which I thought would make it better with the lower stress levels.

It wouldn't hurt to try and see how you feel. I understand though if you'd rather not. No pressure!

That's a great idea, Graham. I'm going to look into it. Thanks!
Unity, it's good to have you on board with the same project.

Hi all,

Dang! Almost 2 weeks into the challenge, and I'm changing my goal!

I'm tracking my weight loss goal on the Health and Fitness challenge, so that felt a bit redundant.

So... I'm going to get into the habit of writing in a journal every day, rain or shine.
I think it would be immensely helpful to organize my thoughts and write out my feelings.
I also hope to get a lot of the 'noise' out of my head by doing this.

I'll let you know if I achieve enlightenment.

Otherwise, I'm just going to check in every day and tell you whether or not I did it.
Now to decide on paper versus computer...

Yeah, computer. My writing has gotten illegible in my old age, and I need to practice my typing anway!

Have you written in your journal mango?

I will also use the health thread.

There are numerous things I will be doing during this time period but not sure if I'll write about them here or not - preparing for Christmas, getting D finances done, getting new income, house etc.

I feel reluctant to start a brand new goal as I never seem to be interested after a while, probably because the essential things on the resistance lists are too intrusive.

It would be nice to find a social life I am comfortable with, lately things have got right out of control with difficult personalities spoiling things between us all. The result of living in a small place with everyone interconnected, you only need people with mental problems or holding grudges to upset everything.

My love life is unusual as well.

Mom was asking why I can't be friends with normal people lol I answered it may be because I find them too boring. Actually I don't really know, but it seems a likely possibility. Because you never know what to expect when you go out the door, life can be quite interesting. Last Saturday for example, was totally off the wall with R4.

Hi all,

I'm setting up my journal right now.
I'll let you know if it helps with the anxious 'knot' that I always have in my tummy.

Unity, I know what you mean.
Not about the social life, as I don't have one, but about the essential tasks and resistance.

Tally ho!

Hi I don't know about giving up grains as such, but I am going to avoid bread for a while as I'm wondering if it is the cause of some of my problems lately, I often feel ill after eating it..

I've consciously cut down on bread, and I've noticed my gut doesn't feel as bloated. I still eat it, but most meals I don't.

How is everyone doing?

I am failing miserably. LOL.
Okay, I was failing miserably.

Back on track with the journaling yesterday and today.
I need to do it long enough that it turns into a habit!

Hi all,

I had a stupendous journaling day yesterday.
I just kept the Word file open and typed whenever and whatever I felt like typing throughout the day.

It turned out to be wonderful on many different levels.
So... I'm inspired to keep going.

I worry about getting out of the habit on work days, so I've decided to use the voice recorder on my phone to record any random thoughts or ideas.
Hopefully that will help to keep me on track.

I hope all are well. :D
