Ran 4.3 miles.

Sunny, again. Several walkers and runners out! It was still below freezing, the snow is still piled high on the edges, and everyone was bundled up, but they were out! Not much of a breeze, which helped.

I am so thankful I don't have snow now and it seems to be over, it's been bitterly cold instead

Ran 4.3 miles.

Snowing hard again, schools are closed, but main roads are mostly wet and slushy. Off roads and grass has another few inches already.

Ugh. I've been eating cake. Stomach does NOT like cake. And I believe I can say with relative certainty that my lifelong issue with my skin breaking out has a great deal to do with the consumption of grains.

It's been a year now that I've stopped eating grains, with some minor backsliding here and there. The last week or so though I've eaten quite a lot of things like cookies, cake, etc, and I can really, really, feel it. And see it. My skin has gone berserk! I guess it's time to get back to the meat and vegetables so I can feel better and my skin can calm down.

Naughty naughty Graham.

Well, as usual after being silly with drinks last night I have a headache :?

2 slices wholemeal, peanut butter
white tea, water

white bread, cooked ham, coleslaw, mustard, tomato, tortilla chips
1 x cider - bad idea :? as it re-started my headache, black coffee, water, white tea

walk - 2 miles

I decided that I am going to lose another 16 pounds before the walk that benefits the American Cancer Society in June. I'm sure I've talked about it before, but it's a walk set up by my stepmother in honor of my dad who died from brain cancer. She works for the same university that he did, and they have a thing where you get time off for community service, so she set this up with university employees in mind. There is a bus that picks up participants on campus and takes them to the park, then takes them back afterwards. It's pretty cool. My brother and I usually do the name drawing for prizes that are donated from around the community.

Anyway, last year I had been losing weight and feeling better, and several people had asked what I was doing differently. I had only been "grain-free" for a couple of months at that point, but now it's been over a year. I've slacked off a lot the last few months, so I need to crack down and get back to healthier eating. I have discovered that I work best with some sort of goal, so I've chosen this walk as a short term goal to work towards, and in the meantime I'll figure out what to do when this one is met.

So, that being said, I will try to post my progress over the next 12 weeks! (the goal date is June 8th)

weight today: 151
I will eat anything that I want to eat today, except sugar. (and of course, grains of any kind)
