I hope you are successful in your search inspired, you find a place you really like.

How are you getting on with poems from your list of ideas?

today's poem

There was a young lady from Durham
Who wanted to write bad poetry on this forum
Try as she might
She had to give up the fight
As her limericks kept winning her money

In the garden darkly where the gophers grow,
Nothing but Adobe clay for forty feet below.
The toiling rototiller tills across my tired toe.
Adobe clay and gophers but the weeds still go.

Pitiful petunias plop and flop about in pots.
Slugs and snails slip by me leaving sticky slimy slops.
I offer them Bugeta but they skip my feeding spots,
And they rasp the buds and blossoms till there's nothing left but pots.

Insecticide, rodenticide, I smush and squish and spray,
But the aphids, ants, and centipedes, are in a family way.
They've claimed their territory, and they'll fight another day.
My genocide's not working. Is there any other way?

How did Moses feel?
Never reached the Promised Land,
Just sand and more sand.

I was feeling particularly sandy when I wrote this.

"When it's springtime in the Rockies,
I'll be coming home to you."

"That leaves only fall and winter,
and the bus to Timbuktu."

Make that "the barge to Timbuktu"

Thanks for reminding me of this challenge Elaine

Moths gather
In my soup bowl
drawn down by the pendulum light
and drown
while I eat them
chewing
unaware
until I get told
by my laughing brother

My pleasure, Unity.

Watch out for that soup!!!!!

The challenge is over, but I might add a poem or two when the spirit moves me. I had a lot of fun with this.

How are you doing, Inspiresuccess? I'm hoping you had some success in writing poetry and finding a place to live. As a friend said to me, "when going through hell, keep going."
