GRATITUDE MARCH 2017

Postby inspiresuccess » Tue Feb 28, 2017 2:51 pm

Since I've been struggling with being grateful lately, I decided I would find quotes about gratitude to share.

"Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude".

I'm grateful for the fat, black-headed bird (Oregon junko) that likes my walnuts, and solar panels, and blossoms, and that I have a little umph today.

Despite scouring the internet for a good quote on gratitude, I was too grumpy to pick one I liked. I did find something I'm grateful for. I'm grateful for the internet, where I can search for quotes that I like even if I don't find any.

I just wrote a list of sixty eight things I'm angry or sad about. Mostly angry.

I'm grateful that I told the kid next door not to throw trash into my yard,
and that my mother in law is in a good place,
and that I'm not living in the dump.

I wasn't going to write anything I'm grateful for this time, but it just slipped out.

I'm grateful that Tuesday's storm (Stella) did no damage to our trees or property and that we didn't lose power.
I'm grateful that I was able to drive out of and into the driveway the day after in order to put in a full day's work.
I'm grateful that Shadow (our dog) loves to go outside no matter how much snow he has to plow through to get to his "bathroom".

I'm grateful I have enough money to take some classes I've always wanted to take through adult ed. I'm finishing up a music appreciation class that I really enjoyed. I just signed up to take a Classical Music listening class that starts on April 11. And I'm thinking about taking a ballet class for adult beginners that I've had my eye on for several years. I put off taking it because I had a problem with my ankles. I think I'm in good enough shape to take it. I have hip problems now (if it ain't one thing, it's another) but I could try it and get a refund (hopefully) if I can't do it.

The money I'm spending is something I have to make a choice of. I can buy things I need for the apartment or I can buy classes. I'm choosing classes right now because I need to get out of the apartment and be connected with people.

The person from HLAA is helping to try to get hearing assistance devices for these classes. I lucked out with the music appreciation class because I sat directly in front of the instructor 6 feet away. Whether I can get help with the other classes is up in the air right now. Cross your fingers and toes for me so I can connect with people again. That's something I would really be grateful for!
