I'm grateful for the Friday lunches that my employer has been catering for many years. Today's lunch, in particular, was a very enjoyable selection of Mexican food, in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

I'm grateful for seeing Gwen, whom I haven't seen in about fifteen years.

SquarePeg, thanks for starting the May Gratitude thread.

I'm grateful for the ER where I can find out if a symptom is really serious.
I'm grateful for my county insurance where I can see my PC and get a referral to a specialist.
I'm grateful that I have a car.
I'm grateful for the BSher boards.
I'm grateful for medication.
I'm grateful for insurance that pays for most of the medication I need.
I'm grateful for people on Freecycle who are willing to take things I don't need and keep them out of landfill.
I'm grateful for the Goodwill who will also take things I don't need and sell them to people who need them.
I'm grateful for both Goodwill and Freecycle where I can get things I need for free or very low cost.

Pain patches, friends, books, and a whole world full of great food.

And a whole world to explore.

(First some background... We had our roof redone in November. The guys used a special "carpet sweeper-looking" device to magnetically pick up nails.)

Today I am so very grateful that when I walked outside to retrieve the newspaper from the end of the driveway, and returned to the front of the house, I noticed the rusty roofing nail six inches away from my bare right foot and failed to step on it.
