Hi Elaine,
Best wishes to you for quick healing. My idea is that you can try 8 walk for just 10 minutes, that too if you feel comfortable.

Friday 10/11 - 50 minute walk (lake)

I made it to the lake for the first time in weeks. It feels good to be able to walk that far again. Now I need to restart my arm exercises in the morning. For some reason, I have absolutely no desire to do yoga which is strange. I don't know why.

Possibly because, your stomach has ulcers and your body, by its own intelligence, doesn't want to strain the stomach. Yoga needs the spinal cord and stomach to be involved in almost all postures. So my idea is: heed your body's voice and do yoga after you feel fit.

Okay, I'm back.

I will have exercises to strengthen my elbow. Right now, I'm just working to get it to bend more.

I will also start exercises for my hip, which is a total mess. I tried to do them a couple of days ago, and I couldn't. But I know I need to. If I get surgery on the hip, the exercises I do now will make the recovery much easier. So I'll see what I can do, and start with that, and hopefully be able to do better later on. This worked well for me before.

So happy stepping and walking and stretching and everything else.

Worked a little bit. It's hard to tell how much is just right.

Walked 2 days ago. Tripped and fell down on sidewalk cement. No serious injury. People close by to help me up. Didn't walk yesterday because legs were bothering me.

First infusion treatment done. Next one on Wednesday. Hoping for more energy.

very short walk today. I feel so cautious, partly because of knowing about the iron deficiency and partly for falling down unexpectedly on my recent walk. But I wanted to get out there and at least go a little ways. maybe it was 20 minutes.

RE:yoga. It's so strange that I don't even want to do a simple candle pose. You're right, Lalitha. My body must be telling me something. Maybe it has to do with the iron deficiency. I'll respect my body and stop testing it to see if maybe it wants to do one pose. Even one seems too much right now.

How are you feeling about your exercising nowadays?

no walk yesterday. I'm torn between wanting to keep up the levels I achieved and wanting to relax and wait for the iron to kick in.

I had my 2nd infusion today. So far, I don't feel any better but they said it takes a few before starting to feel anything.
