The House is in even numbered years, but the House that takes office will only have a little over a year to have its way, (2017 and a few months going into 2018)

2018 is an election year and the opposition will be at the heels of anyone who didn't make it a go in 2017. The 2nd year of the House will be hard to get anything done if the first year was a disaster. Just look at how the Congress held up Obama's Supreme Court nominee. Its hard to get anything done in the last year of any office if the prior year went bad.

If it doesn't go bad, then what's the problem for voters?

Bottom line, there is a limited amount to time make changes in the House, if the changes are good the incumbent's will retain office. If the changes are bad, the incumbent's will be out and the House will have some of the power back.

The Senate also has some seats up every 2 years, so if things go bad the Democrats could retain power in both the House and the Senate in the 2018 elections. If things don't go bad, there is no problem.

She knows. I applaud her remaining as a strong woman who is willing to speak out about the corrupt, evil regime now in Washington. As they round up immigrants and put them in camps (gee, where in history have we seen this?), roll back environmental, employment, protections, try their best to suppress the 1st Amendment and hide their crimes, it is only the real patriots of what this country should stand for that speak up. Their strong arm tactics of trying to hurt anyone who criticizes this uninformed, sociopath in the White House, should not be acceptable to anyone. The fact that his supporters are willing to overlook his behavior because the stock market is up is a sad comment on their character.

So, yes, Hillary, Elizabeth, Caroline Kennedy, all strong women and men, speak up. We cannot allow this to become the norm and acceptable.
