Egypt has cut off all internet access & phones. When a country isolates it's people, bloodshed cannot be far off. ... -internet/

Reports are they've also blocked phone and SMS (Blackberry etc.)

I was thinking today that since Egypt is now in the news, there haven't been anymore updates about Tunisia, that looked very ugly the other week. So many holidaymakers were still trapped.

Country isolating residents - I remember being under communist rule in the old days before modern technology, no one I knew had access to a phone and if you used a call box everything you said was monitored.

So I suppose it could be like that now in Egypt.

Somehow al-Jazeera is still streaming news from there, so it's not all darkness and lack of scrutiny. I just hope we can keep our collective Western interferences in their political struggles at an all-time low, and honest help at a decent level.
