I'm working on a plan like that right now. So far I have not come up with enough things to keep me busy and away from the TV and net - especially the TV. There are outdoor activities I can do in the afternoon, but evening/night is the hardest.
Yesterday, I stayed away from the net/TV for half a day - mainly because a friend invited me out to dinner - and I got a great night sleep last night and feel great today. Maybe it was detox, maybe coincidence, but I'm willing to do it again. That's probably the way for me to live the rest of my life - after detox - use the net in the morning, watch TV eat lunch, and turn it all of for the rest of the day.
It's an interesting problem. Completely giving up the Internet isn't really a good idea in this age. My husband pointed out the irony of us using the net to plan your retreat. And, yes, I realized the irony, I'm sure you did too. I guess it's mostly a question of balance.
I'm planning a one-day detox on Dec. 2nd. (This is your thread, and I hope I'm not monopolizing it.)
Big thanks for the ideas and the posts.
